Relocating to investigational orleans, what's the safest nouns around nearby?

My fiance just get a job working beside the hornets, he doesn't want to be too far away from the arena, yet contained by a good neighborhood. one orginally from new york, we are clueless as to what is a secure neighborhood or not. unfortunately it's not down on apartment searches. can anyone supply us areas that we should avoid entirely or some places that they don't think is too discouraging?
Thanks!!

you can live contained by Kenner or Metaire, or if you don't mind kind of a long drive you can try to find a home contained by slidell
I would right to be heard the Northshore if you want to live out of the city. If you want to live in it, Uptown is probably the method I would go.
If u have the money, the time and he's feeling like to drive, I'd try the northshore. Mandeville is right across the Causeway and that will take him into Metairie (then he can catch into NOLA from there.) The commute would be anywhere from 45m-90 min depending on where on earth u live in Mandeville and traffic.
Slidell is apt, there are authentic nice neighborhoods (if u have th emoney) on the sea in Slidell and u can hope right on the twinspan or Hwy 11 bridge to filch u into NO east, then into downtown.

Also try this:

They hold a map now where on earth u can punch in an address and see what types of crime is going on. So u can foot your area on that.

I importantly suggest renting first to discover the area. If u are plannign to buy its best to rent first to see the nouns. Insurance and housing costs are ridiculous down here.
And yes crime is bad. But that map will furnish u a better idea of what is what.

One point you'll learn give or take a few NOLA, u can be driving in an gorgeous, 'rich' neighborhood, walk down a few blocks, and wham, poorer, not so nice neighborhoods. So just take care.

Lakefront area is nice too, but still rebuilding.
The French Quarter, Garden District, Lower Garden District, and Uptown are adjectives nice areas, and safe, but to some extent expensive. If you don't mind the drive into town, look into the suburbs like Slidell, Laplace, or Gramercy. You could also try the Warehouse District. Go to nola.com, and look within the classified section for apartments.
try around the Tulane University nouns - it's pretty safe around at hand - New Orleans isn't all that big - so it's not too far

if he's likely to drive a little farther to work try slidell or metarie
i live uptown and quality very protected. though more expensive than most of the rest of the city, security is top priority for me and the own flesh and blood. we also got no flood mischief so i'm not looking at abandoned homes infested beside rodents like you'll find surrounded by some areas. if you don't mind being outside of unsullied orleans, jefferson parish has a much better feel on the crime than new orleans and i mull over is also cheaper. it, too, got particularly little katrina damage. i similar to the atmosphere uptown, though. we're close to the zoo, and audubon park. the huge old homes are beatuiful. apt luck!
well if your looking for a undamaging and in-exspensive area, you might want to try metarie or kenner. excluding that you'll be taking a gamble living contained by the city. the crime here has other been impossible, but since the hurricane it's like a period of war zone. good luck and hope you close to it.
Well i would say the complete New Olreans is different and since theres alot of new populace anywhere except the project is ok to live. Crime happen next to people that do crime. New Olreans is great for food and live entertainment. Dont consent to the media stop you from living contained by a beautiful city. Gentilly is a nice nouns not so much now since the storm and adjectives but its coming back lakeview is nice but its also one worked on.
The French Quarter is great but expensive. You can also try the Uptown/Garden District. Or If you want to be close to the quarter but a bit cheaper you can try the Marigny. You might want to work beside a realtor who can help pass you information on the areas you are considering as well. Some address in the areas I mentioned are more desirable than others. Also adjectives areas I mentioned never got any flood marine and are up and running as well as ever.
Go to the northshore. or maybe metarie..
Questions like yours around New Orleans tend to attract highly gloomy "answers" from people who do not live contained by New Orleans and who do not know what they are talking roughly speaking.

Major crime in New Orleans is driven by drug competition, and almost adjectives of the murders & shootings are the result of disputes between drug characters. Stay away from crack cocaine and the people who get rid of or buy it and you will be fine.

It was smooth to tell the areas you should stay away from previously Katrina because they looked wrecked.

However, Katrina devastated much of the city and a lot of it still looks wrecked - even the areas that be really nice before the storm. Lakeview is an example, and Lakeview is coming rear legs.

The parts of the greater New Orleans area that any didn't flood or only flooded for a moment are now fine. Even some of the smaller quantity desirable areas uptown (that didn't flood) are rapidly "gentrifying".

Another answer stated "New Orleans is not that big", which is correct when comparing it to NY. However, living surrounded by the suburbs can mean a day after day commute of 30 to 45 minutes each agency every day. Living on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain and working within the city center (ex. at the Arena) would mean a day by day communte of an hour or more each means of access. You do NOT have to do that to find a nice, undisruptive, attractive place to live in NOLA.

Note that - approaching everywhere - you normally return with what you pay for, so a really cheap rent tend to be a bad sign. The problem for you (when comparing) is that NY rents are almost without a doubt lots higher than even post-Katrina New Orleans rents.

Please re-post your press with more specific info once you enjoy narrowed your search. You are also meet to write - I don't work in the material estate, travel, or retail fields so won't try to put on the market anything to you..
