Avalon is a extremely small town..no specific gay bars...or clubs. There are several bar there and one hours of darkness club for anyone and everyone. Also, lots of opportunity for water sports..kayaking, parasailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, or of late hanging at the shore. You can also hike, stir to restaurants, shop, play miniture golf, go on a train tour, rent a golf pushcart, ride a glass bottom boat, etc.
Catalina is to small to be that specific. there are fun things to do within that mostly have to do next to ocean sports. There are no specific gay bar etc. If you want some action within the SoCal area move about into Laguna Beach. It has several Gay friendly clubs and restaurants and is quite ably known. the town is gorgeous and fun.
Are you chitchat about the principal city there, Avalon? If I take back correctly there aren't copious "gay" clubs or the such...but it's sure its fun whether or not your gay. (they have cool club within you can do karaoke and stuff..)
at hand are only give or take a few 6 streets in the "city", i never see any gay specific places..
