Good apartments within indy? stipulation to be close to downtown, contained by a nontoxic neighborhood for a single girl!?
Answers:
you can look at vanrooy.com they enjoy some nice apartments close to downtown if you like hardwood floors
If you're going to be downtown I'd try to get one on the waterway. They are more expensive but a lot of girls live nearby that go to IUPUI.
If you can draw from away from downtown definitely the NE side is the route to go. Keystone at the Crossing/Castleton is a great nouns.
try greenwood
You said you need to be close to downtown. Well, sorry to say aloud it, but "close to downtown" = sketchy! Stay out of anywhere between 16th and 38th streets, and really most anything up to 56th, unless in Broadripple.
Actually within downtown, that's different. There's plenty of nice apartments, especially along the canal, and condo's, but are kinda pricey.
But, if by "close" you aim you're gonna be working downtown but are ok with going on for a twenty minute commute to/from downtown, I would suggest Broadripple if you like the dark life (you said you're a single girl). Lots of bars/restaurants within.
Otherwise, North and Northeast side (Keystone/Castleton) = pricey but probably the nicest too w/ lots of malls, and stores. Northwest side (Pike township) = better deal, no bars/malls but is close to Eagle Creek Park (if you're into parks it's largest city park surrounded by the U.S. - lots of outdoorsy stuff to do). West side = cheap b/c not much happening here. East side = see west side. South side (Greenwood) = happy prevailing conditions of price/entertainment.
FYI - local stereotypes: South side = NASCAR fans ; North side = rich snobs.
Hoosier hospitality is pretty much everywhere though.
~Good luck!
travel to www.rent.com and do a search on apartments
when you found something you close to
go to www.apartmentratings.com and check out the name of the apartment complex to find what empire who have lived in attendance or are still living there own to say
It really depends on your price scale.
Southside (Greenwood, Southport) is cheaper, but not much nightlife for a young professional. The apartments near for a one bedroom are around $500-600/month.
Ive had friends live here and really resembling it..Great location on I65:

BROADRIPPLE (where I live)
This is a great place for childlike people, college age or freshly graduated. It have great bars! Its where on earth all the childlike college age kids hang out...not downtown really. The apartments arent as nice, but they're alright for the location. Most of the apartments contained by this area are privately owned and rented. You'd probably freshly have to call in the area to find something.

Northside. This is considered the "richy" nouns of Indy so it can be pricey. It has GREAT shopping though!!

Good Luck. Indy is awesome :)
What is your price range? Fishers/Castleton is a well brought-up area but pricey. My brother lives contained by a great complex by the Keystone Mall. it's right behind the Barns and Nobal Bookstore.
The southside of Indy (Greenwood) is okay.price collection is better there. There is a nice complex close at hand Meridian (US31) and Southport (sorry, don't remember the name) that is nice and defensible.
