Not so much like taco bell, more approaching an authentic dine in or drive thru family circle place
Answers:
Here is a good answer, I am from Mexico City and I hold lived here 9 yrs. THERE ARE NO REAL MEXICAN RESTAURANTS. There are a bunch of Tex Mex ( which are fine if you like that ) the closest I would vote that make a clad attempt:
GUajillos- by Blanco and 410
Passion-1604 and Blanco
There is one by StonE Oak and Huebner called Paloma or something resembling that, they make wearing clothes attempts to the REAL MEXICAN food.
If there is anyone here that tell you those are real authentic Mexican places, they probably reason 5 de Mayo is Mexico's Independence day
lone the little ragged restruants serve the best Mexican Food, everything else is a white people version of mexican food (No Offence) But if you love Cheezy Mexican food definatly Chachos
We like to shift to Taco Cabana, there are a bunch of them and they are immediately a chain but they started here within San Antonio and have a nice thaw atmosphere. There is also Garibaldi's Mexican Restaurant, you can't go wrong intake there. In any case the food is great surrounded by both places. Both of these Restaurants were started within San Antonio and by local Mexican families.
Note; Some one said that some of these places are not deeply Mexican , but are Tex-Mex food, that might be kind of true but if you jump down into the interior of Mexico You will find that the food varies adjectives over Mexico so then it would mingy that you can't really get Mexian food surrounded by Mexico. After all at hand is a very big difference between Northern and Southern Mexico, Tex-Mex Food is similar to Northern Mexico
Here on the Southside, try "Nicha's" on the corner of Roosevelt and E. White. They enjoy a burrito there that will nurture a family of three. They own awesome guacamole and great hot sauce. I work right down the road and we eat near all the time. At most minuscule try it.
Taco Cabana be founded in San Antonio, but it isn't deeply "Mexican." It is Tex-Mex. They did originate the "double drive-through".
If you're looking for drive-thru, try Las Palapas. The hold locations all over the city. They also hold sit-down restaurants.
Hey, i`m not really sure about this one..everyon seem to call their mexican food authentic today..but nah its not...if ur ever within the laredo area..try taco palenque!
YOU HAVE TO GO TO MI TIERRA..sorry - merely wanted to manufacture sure you got it.THis is the single place to go.It is over by the mercado...anyone is san antonio can bring up to date yu where it is...it is sympathetic 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. You wont believe your eyes.It is delicate.it is everything a mexican restaurant should be. They have a HUGE bakery so sign out room. You will want to sit here for hours. The place is very big beside many rooms and a huge slab..this is a famous place - be there several many lots years.you have to travel. do not miss it.
The BEST is definitely Jacalas (I imagine its jacala.com). They've been a clan owned restaurant here in San Antonio for over 40 years, and they're positively incredible.
Taco Cabana is really good too, for on the move about, inexpensive Tex-Mex. It doesn't taste resembling "fast food".
I HATE Las Palapas...
Taco Cabana is awesome. It have the Tex-Mex atmosphere, and it originated contained by SA. Plus the tacos are out of this world.
The best.
In my opinion: Chachos (check them out online)
El Jarro (means "The Jar", pronounced "L Harro"). I guess it's not technically a tie up anymore, since most of them have closed down. But it is still among the best.
