It's not a particularly accurate area. The lone reason for staying nearby would be to attend a Nationals baseball game--the new stadium is within easy walking distance.
My husband works at 6th and M Streets, SW. That is NOT an area I'd want to be at hours of darkness. Streets are deserted and not safe. I speak about folks to stay away from any area of SW.
You hold too many choices elsewhere. If you are going to the nouns for business...then stay elsewhere and pilfer the Green line metro to the "armada yard".
The hotel is very isolated and is not not detrimental. I suggest staying in NW DC possibly in the Dupont Circle or Friendship Heights nouns.
