Driving from San Diego to San Francisco: Fastest Route?

Traditional route would be the 5 North all the method but I'm wondering if the 15 north out of San Diego to the 215 to the 5 would by-pass LA traffic? Or is it too long of a detour to make it worth it?

Do not pinch 15 or the 215 all the approach to the 210. Take 15 to Corona, then step on 91 west. Take that for about 5 miles after go onto 71 north which hooks up near the 210 near San Dimas. Of course afterwards you would take 210 adjectives the way to San Fernando to 5 north.
The I-5 Freeway lacking a doubt. LA is going to slow you down so go through nearby at a slow'er' time - like 3:00 a.m. Highway 1 (PCH) is the best for vista but it isn't fast. The 5 pretty much sucks but it will procure you there the fastest. The 215 is NOT the course! The 15 is an option, afterwards to the 210 west & back to the 5 but it's slow going sometimes. The 215 is WAY slow going and take you several miles further east. You can still catch the 210 from near though since it recently open all the means of access to San Bernardino. Whichever way you progress, be safe!
