I don't deem New Orleans look That Bad at adjectives?
Go on Windows Live Local.com or just be in motion to google and type in Windows Live Local and click on that, type contained by New Orleans on the 2nd bottom space, on the upper left will be a statue with a city on a map, click that and the physical images show the aftermath of Katrina.But, the city doesn't look discouraging at all, come support to me with some answers. you really enjoy to be here in creature to make a generous assessment. there are things you can't see from a satellite, but i'm surprised you didn't see a ton of blue tarps on roofs. at hand aren't flooded cars everywhere, homes displaced from their foundations, and piles of debris adjectives over anymore, but we're far from fully recovered. much of the city does look fine, uptown, the garden district and the french quarter are in angelic shape, but they weren't really too damaged anyway. if drive around mid city and lakeview there's still really discernible damage. i haven't be to new orleans east contained by awhile, but last time i did it wasn't looking too great any.
stop looking and the computer and come on down and see for yourself. Spend some money and support the city and surrounding nouns.
Drive down I-10 through New Orleans East or tour the 9th Ward. Even drive through Southern Slidell where on earth 8 feet of hose down washed ashore. It is nearly two years and it still looks bleak. Trust me.
From the standpoint of what tourist and people within general own come to New Orleans to see which is the French Quarter was pretty much untouched by the floods two years ago.
Other than the area particular as The Garden District and the French Quarter, New Orleans is just another big city. The areas hardest hit by the flooding would not feasible have ever be seen by most tourists to originate with.
Some the colossal government housing projects approaching the Desire Housing Project were not secure to enter even before the up-to-the-minute post Katrina rise in the crime rate. New Orleans East have vast areas that are uninhabited very soon. Huge apartment complexes stand empty and rotting. Some of the newer neighborhoods enjoy begun to modernize but very slowly.
My husband get back in the order of a month ago and was sick to his stomach near the way the outskirts of New orleans looked still, it is a shame, because the french quarter is the one and only place prospering right now. The regular folks down here are still struggling...
Well its very soon 2 years later so true abundantly of the tourist areas are back up and honourable as ever. Although the area that get hit by Katrina was larger than the size of great britian and will appropriate a long time to return. You have to remember this be our nations worst national disaster ever. But near that said you should come down and visit and see for yourself. Donate some time and build/restore homes, its incredibly rewarding. Or just come and look in and spend money at local shops they depend on tourism to keep afloat.
No offense but looking at pictures from the safekeeping of your home is a lot different than man in the devastation of the aftermath of a horrible organic disaster. I have lived through Hurricane Ivan and Hurricane Dennis and with the sole purpose remnants of Katrina. But until you spend two weeks in a intrinsically ravaged region next to no power no running water, no nouns conditioning and eating MRE's you really would never know freshly how bad an nouns "looks". Remember you'll do this as you are digging through what was once your child's bedroom, and is presently only a debrie littered foundation. Remember Bourban Street surrounded by New Orleans was not flooded when the level broke as a result of Katrina. But try telling nation that live Chalmette, south of New Orleans that things didn't look so bad. Or those in Waveland Mississippi where on earth Katrina actually made home fall that things don't look that doomed to failure. Anyway, things look different when your literally standing in the middle of it. If you ever bring back a chance to Volunteer beside the Red Cross after a Natural Disaster take authority of it. It's a humbling eye opening experience.
You may not think that New Orleans looks fruitless at all NOW - mind you that it is 2 YEARS after Katrina hit. But I be there 2 months after the storm and I can share you right now that it be the most devastating site I have ever see! I live in Mississippi and contained by my town we had severe destruction (and be out of power for 19 DAYS) but we had nil compared to the destruction New Orleans saw on August 29, 2005. To this day you can drive through New Orleans and see buildings where on earth people have spray painted signs of HELP. The town was completely shattered by Katrina and for you to imagine that "it doesn't look that bad at all" is ridiculous. If you didn't see it first mitt then please don't comment.
All of those "bird's eye" view shots are BEFORE hurricane Katrina. Look at the above ground shots and you will notice adjectives the blue tarps then scroll over the Lower Ninth Ward and look at the devastation.
As for NO East, both the Birds Eye attitude and the Aerial shots are BEFORE Katrina too.
The time the aerial photos and bird eye scene photos were taken be at different times. All of the bird's eye shots are BEFORE Katrina and most of the aerials are after, although there are some formerly Katrina like NO East and St Bernard Parish. Not adjectives of those images are of post Katrina NOLA.
Google Maps also shows post Katrina NOLA and it's not pretty any.
But either bearing you can't really capture the sense of devastation until you see it contained by person.
Some places still look bad. They still want help near with cleaning up some places. But it is coming together...
it doesn't matter hoe it looks on the computer you have to see it live right in front of your feeler everywhere you looked
