Not really. There's some excellent Japanese restaurants and plenty of Japanese culture, but there isn't a defined neighborhood, resembling Chinatown or Little Italy.
There isn't really a well-defined nouns of Japanese shops within the city confines like Chinatown, although you can find them within a lot of places. The knit below is something I found while Google searching that might be some lend a hand.

Yes, It is called Chinatown. You can bring there by taking the Red Line and exit on the Chinatown exit. Tons of devout food and good shopping.
There's no Japantown surrounded by Chicago. There is a Korea town which is pretty much Lawrence Ave. in Chicago. There's also Chinatown (downtown Chicago Wentworth St.) and a bit Chinatown (mostly Vietnamese and Chinese) located on Argyle and Broadway Ave.
There is however a Japanase Mega Supermarket. It's called Mitsuwa Marketplace contained by Arlington Heights, IL. It's a NW suburb of Chicago. It's huge. There's a delicious bakery within there as powerfully as many Japanese caf¨¦ serving authentic dishes (authentic...I mean they are really Japanese and not Koreans who own and run it). There's also a spot to receive fresh sushi and maki rolls.
