Where are some suitable smaller amount expenisive suburbs to live surrounded by around the portland nouns?
Suburb but still pretty much in portland resembling right smack dab subsequent to it, i don't want to have to drive through a bunch of crap of late to get into the city that i will spend mostly adjectives my time in!

The farther away from downtown the more imagined you will be to find more affordable housing. The basic rule of thumb is that it is cheaper to live on the east side of town. The Willamette River divides the city surrounded by to east and west. Staying on the east side of the Willamette just tend to be less expensive. Some of the suburb areas on the east side of town include Gresham, Troutdale, and Fairview. Getting to downtown from these burbs with the sole purpose takes something like 10-15 minutes since these towns are near I-84. To the south of the city you could check out Clackamas, Milwaukie or Gladstone. All nice areas though housing within the Portland area can be fairly spendy. If you want to look in the city for housing, your best bet, would be SE or NE Portland. The neighborhoods in these sections of the city can be incredibly different though so do your homework in regard to these areas. You basically catch what you pay for, as near anything in natural life, so just save asking questions! Good luck!!
There aren't any 'less expensive' suburbs right smack in the neighbourhood downtown - sorry. If you're really looking for less expensive, Sherwood, Gresham, Hillsboro are some of the further out areas that won't be as much but will bring you at least 30 minutes to receive into downtown.
You might look at some of the condos going up in the Pearl - right downtown. Some of them are enormously nice and affordable for a single person. Most of my single friends live near because they can buy something around $200k.
