Where can I buy a great birthday cake surrounded by Portland, OR?
I'll be in Portland OR for a roomy event in June - one of the youth from my church is going as the youth rep and I'm her chaperone. She'll be turning 15 that week and I want to get hold of her a nice cake. Know any great bakeries near the downtown or Lloyd center nouns? Any nice Thai restaurants around - she loves Thai food. Thanks!

Jaciva's is the place for cake. It's not downtown or that close to Lloyd Center, but it's great. I love Thai food and have eat at many frequent Thai places in Portland. I imagine, hands down, the best Thai place is Chaba Thai. They own the BEST noodle dishes around. The noodles have this smokey/bbq flavor that you can merely get from a wok to be precise super super hot. Most places do not use as high of boil to cook their food. You really can taste the 'breath of the wok' at Chaba Thain because of that lofty heat they use...it's incredible. Oh my...my mouth is watering simply thinking about it!
The Helen Bernhard Bakery is great and it's a well-established Portland favorite close to Lloyd Center. It's right on 17th and East Broadway. I get a cake there for my mother's birthday and it be beautiful and yummy. I also attached the relationship for the place for your convenience. There are also a ton of Thai restaraunts in that nouns.
I've also hear good things roughly speaking Beaverton Bakery and Jaciva's but I haven't tried them myself.
for thai food try e-san downtown, they have an awesome pineaple fried rice, and bbq chicken. josephs have great cakes, you can command them through new season, or directly from them. jacaivas(sp?) has great cake, beaverton bakery has perfect cakes as resourcefully, thier more airy than dense.
