What is the ride similar to from El Paso to Austin, Texas?
Are there interesting places to stop and guzzle and rest or is it all relatively boring?

Balmorhea State Park might be worth a stop if you want to swim. Fredericksburg might be worth a stop as well, and there's other Enchanted Rock, just north of Fredericksburg.
But yeah, largely long and boring.
Ditto exactly answer #1 - tremendously long, very boring and especially flat - until you get to the Austin nouns. An oasis contained by the middle of Texas!
Depends on what you're riding< G > It's a long trip. Probably about 8 or 9 hours straight thru by motor.
