Depends...could be almost summer resembling (september is still summer down here for sure) or it is possible we could catch an untimely cold front and it be cool out for a day or two...within 2 weeks it'll be very polite most if not adjectives...to answer your question yes it is shoreline weather...I personally don't run once the summer is over...but I'm a Floridian so grew up in the bake...
Still warm within the daytime, and semitropical at night (60s, 70s). Remember, October is still contained by hurricane season, so pay attention to the weather a few days up to that time you go. Yes, most beach in Florida are still ok within October, even around St Augustine, Daytona, etc. But in Nov and December, they carry a little iffy. Enjoy your stay.
