Why is Chicago call the blowing hard city?
Answers:
It have to do with the instrument politicians bloviated in the rash days...it's really not so windy in attendance in the literal sense.
It's by a big ol' tarn, which has sharp wind off it... kinda similar to being at the coast...
New York and Chicago were both bidding for the Columbian World Exposition. Reps. from respectively city argued a lot for their right to host one of the worlds biggest events. Chicago won, and New York reps. said that the politicans surrounded by Chicago spoke so much, wind come out of their mouths. Don't quote on this but im pretty sure thats how it all go down. The term be coined by a New York paper.
But Chicago does bring its fair share of organic wind.
It is in mention to the politicians.
It be originally a jab at the corrupt politics within the city years ago (and some say still, but...), as okay as a jab against those who live in attendance who, more than other cities, are prone to bragging about it, but for trivial and generic reason (ie: unwarranted).
It's not actually *that* squally. It IS windy, but not nearly as much as spot on other cities.
my intellectual capacity of it was from when politicians blew hot nouns out their mouth whn the city hosted the Democratic Convention back surrounded by the 1970s. Of course, that story about the 1876 occurance seem quite practicable as well.
They hold gale force winds here!
Well truly its not really the winds, but how they brag roughly speaking their city. Simple as that.
Because its on the shores of Lake Michigan
The earliest specified references to the "Windy City" are from 1876, and involve Chicago's rivalry near Cincinnati. A popular myth states that the term "Windy City" . Chicago have been call the “windy” city, the term anyone used metaphorically to make out that Chicagoans be braggarts.
But I suspect that because it lies at the southernmost tip of lake Michigan,22,400 square miles and is flanked by sea Huron 23,010 square miles it is subjected to high prevailing wind from the lakes.
It's actually due to the politicians - be a reference to them contained by the papers many years ago.
That has absolutly zilch to do with the weather. It be becuase the politicans were full of crap spinal column then. i.e. full of hot nouns, talked too much, etc.
i dnt know but i've just blown within from there
Ermmmm.. because everyone has a doomed to failure wind problem at hand ??
in good health, if uve evere been near, u would know. its pretty windy. 20-30 mph wind are common. acually feel nice on a 60-70 degree light of day. not however on a 3- 4 degree year.
cuz its windy
Because it's a stormy place. It's not complicated.
