Yes - near are unsafe neighborhoods.
Look for an apartment in Magnolia or Ballard.
stay away from Rainier and Martin Luther King Jr Way areas
Seattle is relatively safe as big cities jump howeve i have have some scary experiences on 8th and pine deferred at night.(That is right close pike place market).
By and full-size, Seattle is a safe city. You might want to avoid the Rainier Ave S nouns.
Wherever you go there's other an unsafe area, but you can try avoiding the Central nouns and Rainier Beach especially if your not used to crazy unsafe things...Good luck
Honestly, in that aren't too many areas that are that bleak. There are areas that some people will say aloud to be wary of but it depends on where on earth you are moving from, I guess, to see what your perspective is like. A lot of race say the southend isn't that not detrimental. I disagree mostly, but there enjoy been a few more problems near than other areas. I'd stay away from the Lake Washington Apartments at the south end of Rainier and Henderson by Rainier Beach High School. Pretty ghetto apartments and not adequate upkeep. In general, though, Seattle is lucky to not hold any areas that are notoriously "unsafe". The U-Dist. seem to have be getting progressively worse over the last number of years and I guess crime rates hold been increasing near, which seems unnatural, right next to the UW.

Where are you specifically looking to move to? Any definite neighborhoods or regions/areas that you are considering? That would be easier to pick out as good/bad areas... I think adjectives in adjectives, you most likely won't find too tons areas that you don't feel out of danger in and how you surface is going to be probably the most important.
There's not really any 'unsafe' places surrounded by Seattle. Be wary of the outskirts of downtown, close the stadiums, and china town, there are a ton of hobos lay about, passed out.
