Where can I park to budge to the Holocaust Museum surrounded by Washington, DC?
I need somewhere close to the Holocaut Museum contained by Washington, DC to park. I will need to park adjectives day. Anyway free/cheap practical the Museum to park for a long time (ex: 12-8)
Answers:
I do not recommend trying to park near the museum. The Holocaust Museum is nearly three blocks from the Smithsonian Metro station (Blue and Orange lines), using the Independence Avenue exit. Metro runs until about midnight on the weekdays and 3:00 a.m. on weekends.
Parking is at a premium.
"There is a compensated parking lot at 12th and C St., SW (east of the Museum) which costs approximately $4 per hour, and hourly metered parking along Independence Ave. Area public lots fill precipitate in the morning, and street parking is restricted. There is no street or lot parking west of the Museum. Expect to walk three to five blocks to the Museum entrance if you choose to bring your vehicle. "
There is no place cheap to park, especially in that nouns, and I agree with the respondent who suggests you park your saloon at metro, and take the subway surrounded by to Smithsonian Metro station. When you get to Smithsonian station give via the Independence Avenue Exit, not the Mall, and you will be only a couple blocks from the museum.
Bob give you the suggestions from the Holocaust Memorial Web Site; depending on your luck and how far you are willing to saunter, you can also check out the waterfront area, which have a significant amount of parking (most not free). There is parking on the mall, but for as long as you entail.
Another option, if you MUST be downtown, is Union Station. They hold a big, convenient parking lot, but the walk across the shopping precinct to the museum is about a mile long.
