Answers:
My friend, you've asked the master of public transportation and shall deliver.

From Rye, NY to JFK by rail.

Step 1: at the Rye, NY Metro-North station, bring the New Haven Line train to Grand Central.

Step 2: at Grand Central, transfer the NYC subway. Take the uptown (northbound) #6 train (Green Line) one stop to 51st Street.

Step 3: at 51st Street, verbs to the Queens-bound (eastbound) "E" train (Blue Line). Follow the directional sign that says: "E" and "V" trains. Take the "E" train from Lexington Avenue to Sutphin Blvd-JFK Airport/Jamaica Station.

Step 4: at Sutphin Blvd-JFK Airport/Jamaica Station, verbs upstairs to the JFK Airtrain. Take the Airtrain to all terminal.

Fares

Metro-North from Rye to Grand Central: $9.25 one way peak/$6.75 one means of access off highlight. Make sure you purchase you're ticket at that station.

Subway and Airtrain: $7 ($5 for the Airtrain and $2 for the subway)

Now, if you're buying your Metro-North ticket from the ticket machine, net sure you also buy a regular (pay-per-ride) MetroCard for use on the subway and the Airtrain. That way you will capture to the airport on time and you don't enjoy to deal near the long lines to buy a MetroCard at Grand Central.

I hope this information is very polite. Good luck and happy travels.
