Does Hawaii hold ghettos?
And is it true that the cost of living there is expensive? How much is a one-bedroom apartment?
Answers:
Everywhere there are ghettos! Doesn't concern what state you go to, you will find "unpromising sections"!
The cost of living, is expensive, but if you plan your buget wisely, you can live in attendance!
You don't have to rent the most expensive place, but you don't want to rent contained by the ghetto either!
yup everywhere have ghettos
Aloha Leilanibabyblu 206,
I could only speak just about O`ahu. Growing up all my energy within Honolulu oodles of us locals consider certain areas ghetto. Understand, Hawaii is nil compared to the ghetto out in abiding areas of the States where at hand is drive by shootings all the time & the entire neighborhood is totally run down.
In Hawaii what we bid ghetto is run down apartments because they are old, drug contact, fights, indubitable locals wanting to start something with you because you're not from that nouns (neighborhood) & also gangs. Hawaii have it's bloods, crips, Samoan gangs, Asian gang..etc.
All this run down neighborhoods through out my home Island O`ahu resulted from high cost of living & Hawaii anyone too Modern. Many of our Hawaiians, Polynesians, Asians can't keep up near Modern Hawaii. Hawaii has drastically changed over decades to attract more tourist, rich population, Business people, the Japanese tourist. O`ahu rely heavily on the Military & tourism to save our Islands Economy going. I know we're the 50th State but.. It's our local residents & Hawaiian people that are suffering.
Prices for apartments vary.. renting is very glorious & honestly the square footage for an apartment or condo is not worth it. Depends on your career.. surrounded by order to survive living within Hawaii you need at lowest 2 jobs & if you be in charge of your money well you'll be fine.
Aloha to you!!
I moved to Hawai'i. The house I be looking at was going for $750,000...that's cheap (according to what the locals told me). As for an apartment, depending on how far it is from the coast --- the closer you capture the more expensive it is. But with it one an island there's no telling. Try www.apartments.com. As for ghettos, yes...here are ghetto portions to Hawai'i.
Like any city, Honolulu is as diverse and have it's fair share of troubled areas due to housing shortages, outrageous cost of housing, large cost of living.
One bedroom apartments can rent anywhere from about $700 to $2000 per month depending on the location and size. There are cheaper unit but you're really getting into some areas of town that have lofty crime.
Balance what you want to do, where you want to work, and how much you can afford.
