Smart move...Denver to Austin?
My boyfriend and I recently visit the Austin area (to include Roundrock, Georgetown and the nouns near Lake Travis). We are young-looking (late 20's/early 30's), fit, plan to marry and have no children. He's a software obtain and I'm in healthcare (Occupational Therapy). And we are looking for a silver (especially after this last CO winter). We still desire a lifestyle to be precise similar to CO in the Spring/Summer months (warm weather, lots of outdoor accomplishments, decent nightlife, yummy restaurants, etc.). We looked at home prices and found it to be much cheaper (although we're not sure how the property taxes work). Some insight/advice from any Coloradoans who hold moved to Austin would be great. But, any insight from the locals is much appreciated. Thanks in finance.

i own been to colorado several times, and i live within ausin. your in for a big grill shock. it is only 90 right presently, and thats unusual for this time of year. (feels cooler than usual)

Stay in Denver. There are a ton of jerk from CA moving here. Soon all the Texans will move to another state to nick it over.maybe we will move to CA.
Austin has everything that you mentioned and more! It is an just what the doctor ordered city for young couples because of weather, job, interesting things to do, education and basically plain fun. Your occupations fit into the Austin brief market because anything computer related and healthcare are at the top of the detail here. As far as the property taxes: Texas has no state income excise, no tax on groceries and/or pharmaceuticals. Texas runs on the backbone of its property taxes so they are higher statewide than surrounded by some other states, but the relief from state income duty and on groceries, etc. more than makes up for it. Grocery items and household items drink up a fairly life-size chunk of our paychecks so the added savings at the check out counter feel good. I enjoy found that shopping at HEB, a Texas based cuff, is also phenomenal because all their store brands compare to national brands and you collect money on the grocery item itself as well the taxes. HEB is by far the most adjectives store around the Austin area and nearby is one in any portion of town where you would live. Since Austin truly "lives" in more than one county, you might try contacting the County Appraisal District surrounded by Travis, Williamson and Hays Counties to ask about the taxes and "how they work". They are smaller number in some areas than others.
I enjoy 3 grown children: sons 35 and 33 and a 25 year old daughter. I am 58, soon to be single and moving support to the Austin area where on earth my sons now live. I also hold a 3 year old grandson, so I am legally knowledgeable something like what is available for people contained by your age group. I can only voice that my children have enjoy the Austin lifestyle, and so have I. I lived here for 8 years before moving away 6 years ago to remarry, and I am looking forward to making it my long-lasting home for the rest of my life, probably moving this tumble. I have lived masses places, Austin is my favorite. You can find a rewarding and interesting life in that. Hope it works out for you. Denver is nice, but soooooooooo cold in winter and within Austin you can swim at Christmas!

We love it! There is always something to do for the kids, couples, and even pets.
There is no state income export tax, but they get you within other ways...trust me.
I would check out austin online and see what you think. I interviewed for a profession and called my husband to share him- with or minus the job, I be moving! I got the position anyway.
People in TX are so friendly...they really are. I am from NYC and couldn't believe the difference surrounded by people. Although I miss the City surrounded by NY, I love it here...it's home now.

My son is in the Army stationed at FT. Hood, Texas so we travel here alot and spend 2-3 weeks each time and I own researched the area.
Austin and San Antonio are growing. House Prices are still rather low but are going up at a good stride. These two cities are about the singular place in the country that home sale have increased by a huge percent. They rated the untouchable in the recent Real Estate studies.
You enjoy good nightlife, great outdoor happenings, close to Houston to take cruises (at ultimate minute low rates), not too far from the beaches, and you hold great weather. Gets a little hot surrounded by the summer but tolerable. Lots of jobs too.
The with the sole purpose problem I have found is the traffic, it is impossible at many times of the year.
But there is a belt (private) that go around the city and you can jump bad and on for easier access. It is a toll road and the tolls are expensive but I know there is pass you can buy for locals.
I have found that if you shift to Texas you need to soak up the Texas Spriit it is everywhere. Texas Pride is adjectives and Texas flags fly all over the state. They are proud of nearby sport teams, colleges, ranches, and heritage. Be prepared to procure involved and be a texan. And the steaks are to die for. Have you ever heard of a 2 pound steak? The men and even the ladies munch through them in Texas. They cover the entire plate and sit 4 inches gelatinous.
