07/07 Issue of Portland Monthly Features...a STRIP BAR??
Interested in seeing what other ethnic group feel roughly speaking this.
If you're familiar near "Portland Monthly" you may be interested to know that their July issue has several page dedicated to a strip club. The article is call "Theres something about Mary".
Do you consistency that this should be in a Monthly Magazine that shows the world the "best" of Portland? Or do you construe that strip clubs, and nude bars, own no place in a Magazine that also occasionally have articles for families and "things to do" for kids?

I can see your point, however it's not a domestic magazine or atleast isn't marketed that instrument. It's a portland magazine, and really were set for coffee, wine, dairy and the strip clubs. To be fair this isn't a magazine you would read next to your kids, it's geared towards adult, and also whose to speak just produce you have kids you wouldn't be interested surrounded by the current culture of portland? just because you hold knowledge of such things doesn't imply you go to them. Your basically well informed. That's how i would look at it. And portland is not a 'pit' it's one of the nicest place i've ever be and i've traveled all over the world. it have it's good points and desperate points. Just cause at hand are strip clubs doesn't mean thier blaringly plain as the nose on your face in most cases. That's resembling saying portland is sin city make happen we have so plentiful bars, it's adjectives in the preception. to respectively thier own.
Hate to say it but Portland is turning into a pit..TOO various people and I enjoy never seen as much trash along side the freeways as I do today. Crime have sky-rocketed and no one know how to be nice anymore..I'll never (hopefully) live in PDX again..
Mary's club is a strip club - true. And Portland has more strip clubs per square mile than the Vegas strip, but the special entry about Mary's is to be precise kind of a Portland god. Because it is a strip club I can see how people might be sensitive that they would write about it but Mary's boasts that it have never closed, even for extreme weather, and it is the oldest strip club in town. It's a business nonetheless and it's a part of a set of Portland's history. Why bash a magazine for reporting about a business that have history in the city to be precise also the title of the magazine. To censor it, would be puritanical. Portland is not puritanical at all. As long as the content isn't vulgar, who care. If your children read it, then congratulations to them for reading a very well written magazine.
Yeah, it's kind of messed up, but Portland is particular for strip clubs. It has the most per capita of any city within the US, I believe. Also, Mary's is a bit of a Portland institution. It's been around for a really long time and is f¨ēted around here. I'm not saying I support that industry or anything, merely saying that's how it made its agency into the magazine.
Ever hear of "Freedom of speech"?
Portland is notorious for it's strip clubs. It have one of the highest rates of strip clubs per capita contained by the US and it is generally agreed in Portland. The Oregon Constitution is immensely liberal when it comes to freedoms and Oregon is one of only a few states where on earth the 'dancers' get fully nude. Mary's club is a Portland institution have been frequented by movie stars and f¨ēted folks when they are in town. Mary's is a family unit run business where one of the daughters within the family is a dancer. I do estimate it's appropriate as it is unique to Portland's culture and is sort of looked at as no big business. You see both men and women at the clubs and it is usually a fun and safe environment. Of course, in attendance are seedy harsh places, but Mary's and some others are legendary and, for better or worse, are portion of Portland's culture and make this city a peerless and fun place to visit and live.
Totally agree that it shouldn't be contained by a Portland Monthly magazine.

Honestly, being KNOWN for strip clubs is NOT a apposite thing. Is this the symbol we want? Is this the BEST we have to set aside in portland? Is this what we want portland to be certain for? NO no and NO.
