Does anyone know a great hotel close to the coast surrounded by San Diego?
I want to get a room that overlooks the the deep, and is really nice, entertaining, and romantic. Could be in San Diego or any other city close to there, close to the hose. Any suggestions?

The Del is great, but depending on your budget, also look into the Catamaran and the Bahia. Sometimes, when we cant gain rooms there, we enjoy stayed at the Blue Sea Lodge which is right on the boardwalk down in Pacific Beach, and we loved the location. It is not a "great" hotel by any system, its just nice to seize a room facing the water. YOu can sit and inhabitants watch adjectives day long! There is also a great restaurant right accross the street from it. I judge my favorite has to be the Catamaran. Great hotel, fun pub, location, etc. Lots of fun at the pool, as well.
My husband and I lately returned from San Diego, and we stayed at the Catamaran Resort. By far, the best hotel for the money!
Its located within walking distance of the shore, several reasonably priced restaurants (the hotel restaurant is TOO expensive), and fun little shops.

One of my favorites is Pacific Terrace...they hold lovely rooms, free breakfast and they're right on beach within Pacific Beach. I've also heard wonderful things give or take a few Tower 23.

"Larry's pleasure Palace"...on 26th street (actually you enter contained by the alley between 26th and 27th)...They a bit pricey, though.

Try the La Valencia hotel La Jolla.
It OVERLOOKS THE OCEAN, is unbelievably
NICE AND ROMANTIC.
It is very CLOSE TO THE BEACH.
There is also a public house, lobby bar next to ocean viewpoint
and restaurant on site.
You can walk to the beach/park to keep under surveillance the sunset and walk to lots fine shops and restaurants. They have concierge, bell, and valet service. It still have the old style elevator beside an attendant to open the door. It is also NEAR SAN DIEGO.

I agree next to the Hotel Del in Coronado. It's right on the shore and I would kind of consider it historic. Very pretty and pretty little city. And it have easy access to Downtown by simply crossing the Coronado bridge.
