Job opportunity contained by Gaithersburg, where on earth to live?
Hi all:
I am considering a situation opportunity in Gaithersburg, MD. If I adopt the job, I will be moving from Atlanta.
Can anyone report to me about the nouns, what neighborhoods I should be looking into? I'll be renting for the first year until I get used to enough beside my surroundings to purchase a home. I want to rent an affordable 1 or 2 BR apartment or townhouse in a decent/nice neighborhood.
I don't mind traveling up to 30 minutes to procure to work. But public transportation access is not relevant since the job is a grazing land position, and will require me about 90% travel via sports car.

What do you consider affordable? Are you single/married? Do you have kids (therefore are school an issue?)
If it were me I'd look contained by Gaithersburg if schools be an issue, and closer to the District if not.
G'burg is a nice area. If you find the price is a problem, you might look further north, toward Frederick, for more affordable housing. Renting for a year (or less) is a vastly good impression. Lots of homes on the market right presently, as real estate sale are slow.
Consider the Park Station Apartments.
If you're working out in a corral, find a point within a 30 minute radius of adjectives the points you encounter in the grazing land plus your home office - if that's Gaithersburg, live here. If not, try Frederick.
Anywhere around Gaithersburg or Olney isn't unpromising. Rockville is slightly more crowded, but still ok. Good luck.
Try to move to Germantown, which is north to Gaithersburg and is a nicer and more quiet neighborhood than Gaithersburg. I wouldn't do Park apartments, they are really pretty but contained by a bad side of Gaithersburg. Check this site and the cities to check close by gaithersburg are Rockville (a bit pricy), Germantown (cheaper and safe) and Frederick (cheaper but also depeding on what time you have to win to work, your commute is going to suck because going south on 270 is harder for those from Frederick because it's a 2 line interstate until you grasp close to Germantown it turns to 4 lanes).

I would recommend Frederick County, especially if you are considering where on earth to move your family to contained by the future. Good school, low crime, not as congested. http://www.fredericktourism.org/
Gaithersburg, and even Germantown, used to be great places to live, but recently they own become much to congested for my tastes. The school used to be good, but their resources are individual drained by students that are "at-risk".
Gaithersburg is a good nouns, it's in the suburbs northwest of DC. Germantown is the subsequent suburb to the northwest, and Rockville is the next one to the southeast (toward DC)
"Affordable", ably... $1K is at the bottom of availability.
"Up to 30 minuites", well... that's something like 12 miles in rush hour.
I know it's knotty to believe, but DC has a worse rush hour than Atlanta.
If your duty is in MD, don't capture an apartment in VA, and vice versa. There's just one bridge connecting MD to VA (without going into the core of Washington), and it's always fruitless in rush hour.
If I were you, I would rent an apartment surrounded by Germantown, Maryland. Should be easily inside your 30-minute commuting window and budget..
You might even know how to find an apartment in your price stock in Gaithersburg.
Rockville have many more things to do and is still in your commuting window, but you're unlikely to find a 1BR apartment for $1,000 within.
Other areas within a 30-minute drive from Gaithersburg include Olney, North Potomac, Boyds, and Clarksburg, but I don't near are too many of apartments surrounded by any of them.
All of the above areas are very undamaging.
