Best photo spots for holiday pictures within D.C.?
My soon to be fiance and I are looking to take engagement photos for holiday gifts. Where would be some apt locations - indoors and out to take pictures w/ a festive circumstance?
Answers:
I'd read aloud that your best bet is in front of the National Christmas Tree, at the Pageant of Peace. If you strip it up right, you can get the Washington Monument contained by the background, also.
The White House usually have decorations on the fence outside, but would not be fitting as a background because of that obstruction.
Union Station has some decorations, and if in attendance is snow in time (unlikely, actually) the Capitol beside a blanket of snow would be lovely.
Mount Vernon (definitely tops the list, but
technically not surrounded by D.C)
National Cathedral
maybe the Kennedy Center?
Washington National Cathedral (3001 Wisconsin Ave NW)
United States Botanic Garden (245 1st Street SW)
The White House Christmas Tree on the Ellipse
The Capital Christmas Tree
Union Station
The Mormon Cathedral in Maryland (Festival of LIghts) from 30 Nov to 30 Dec.
The National Zoo does "ZooLights" from 28 Nov to 30 Dec.
Garden of Lights at Brookside Gardens surrounded by Wheaton MD from 17 Nov to 6 Jan.
Bull Run Festival of Lights in Centreville, VA from 30 Nov to 23 Dec.
Lights on the Bay at Sandy Point State Park surrounded by Annapolis from 16 Nov to 1 Jan.
