Metra is the name of the passenger train procession that connects Chicago to the surrounding communities and counties. Unfortunately there isn't any Metra station at O'Hare. You would hold to take the city train call CTA via the Blue Line and exit at Clinton and walk north to Union Station to pinch the Metra train to Elgin. To be honest this is a lot of work and aggravation to put aside yourself some cab fare after a long international flight. Metra is one of the train system here. You can take the CTA train (subway) straight to downtown. I am not sure that in that is a metra connection at O'Hare although in attendance very capably could be.
