Currently I reside in Norfolk, VA. I just this minute graduated contained by May. In my efforts to verbs on with university and become a successful young individual, I’ve made a enthusiasm changing judgment that could affect me in copious ways. I’ve decided to move to the Great City of Chicago. With knowing little give or take a few the area, but that its home to a especially famous basketball player and a cooperate show host, I truly believe that Chicago will be a great place to call HOME.
As my moving date slowly approaches (Dec 28th), I’m preparing myself for the transition from the suburbs/country setting into the city existence. I’ve been looking into places to work and obviously where to stay. I haven’t really be successfully quite but in my preparation.
The intention for this letter is to ask for any type of assistance specifically available to me that will help me within this moving process. I don’t know much at all roughly speaking the area. You will LOVE it here! I assure you! You should come to Chicago for a visit first, get registered at temp agencies... kelly services, venturi staffing, paige personnel... purely a few that I can think of bad the top of my head. Also, choose your neighborhood. There are profusely of different neighborhoods in Chicago. Wrigleyville, Wicker Park, the North side, Lake Shore, Bucktown. some are particularly more pricier than others. Look at craigslist.org you will find a good place to live. It's better to do things immediately than come here and be homeless! Do you have friends helmet live here? Or family?
There is other something to do in Chicago, Christmas is great. Magnificent mile is elegant, German fest, the Tree is up, Navy Pier.

Peggy - WOW! You've never be to Chicago and now you're moving here? I hold lived in Chicago since I be a child and I LOVE it here, but I would suggest that you visit and look the city over in the past you make such a drastic adapt. Do you have any friends who live within Chicago that you could visit?
Chicago is a lovely city full of really nice people. It's verbs and pretty safe. There are plenty of job and good housing and school. But it does have it's downsides and disadvantages.
And, moving to Chicago surrounded by DECEMBER from Norfolk, VA? The average temperature contained by Chicago in December is give or take a few FREEZING (32 Fahrenheit) during the day. That's COLD. And, it get colder in January and February. The snow is pretty, but the sun uncommonly shines from December though March.
My advice, buy a big bulky coat, boots, hat and gloves .

Don't be fooled. Chicago is really colder than Norfolk, but it's not like moving to Buffalo or Minneapolis. For various years we've not had terrifically few prolonged very cold snaps. February of 2007, in truth, was the first time we have one of those in copious, many years. Last December be mild. But you will need tangible winter clothes here, and get polite boots before you come surrounded by case there's snow around when you arrive.

Consider getting some books (yeah, the internet doesn't have everything contained by one place), like the NFT (Not for Tourists) guide to Chicago, or the newcomer's manual. The Newcomer's handbook is from 2004, so some of the info contained by it may not be current.

I found a website called moving to chicago, but beware, it doesn't appear to enjoy been updated for a while (e.g., it say the phone compnay is Ameritech, but that name hasn't be used for a number of years now), and it is incomplete within many ways. I wouldn't rely on it alone.
