Metro North into the city.?
We will be leaving from Poughkeepsie going into Grand Central on Sun. It say the estimated time is 104 minutes. Does it usually go faster or slower later the estimated time. If we need to be at Penn Station at 12:30pm, would taking the 9:30 train out of Poughkeepsie be alright. It estimates time of arrival at 11:17am. Please consent to me know. thanks!

the trains usually run on time, and surrounded by any case you own allowed yourself plenty of time, so you should be ok

It depends on which you get on local, semiexpress, etc.
Also, it depends on weather condition.
If it slippy, train will run at slow speed.
Also, due to construction on inbound platform, southbound trains diverted to northbound platform while northbound trains diverted to southbound platform from Ossining to Philipse Manor Station due to station renovation project which begin January 18th, 2007 and continue for 18 months.
On Saturday, you should check MTA Website and check brand new fare info effecting March 1st.

You should be in recent times fine. And Grand Central and Penn really *are* close enough to hike between. Figure about a 20 minute waddle.
Or you can take the shuttle from Grand Central over to Times Square and a short time ago walk downtown from here. That's a 10 minute walk. Should be assured on a Sunday.
Or you can take the shuttle to TS, and hop one of several subways one stop to 34th St/Penn Station.
I guess if you're toting deeply of stuff or something it might be worth a cab.
But I'd newly walk, unless the weather is desperate.
My friend, the 9:33am train to Grand Central is an express train, which means it will by endorsement Breakneck Ridge, Manitou. After the train stops at Croton-Harmon, it will run express once again, by passing stations from Ossining to Harlem-125th Street. The train will stop at Harlem-125th Street next Grand Central Terminal, arriving at 11:15am. You'll be perfectly on the dot.
Please be advice that the Grand Central North entrance is close on weekend, you must use the terminal at the south finale.
I hope this information is very accepting. Good luck and happy travels.

Metro-North have a pretty good reputation of human being on time. So if explicitly the estimated time, it will most likely be "late on" give or help yourself to a minute.
And yes, that 11:17 time into Grand Central is PERFECT. Penn Station is not that far away, but not close enough to tramp to. Just grab a hackney carriage from Grand Central to Penn Station and that should take you nearly 10 minutes.
