"Does anyone know how far Four Points by Sheraton Chicago O'Hare Airport is from the nearest "L" station?"
The hotel's Web site says, "Take the 'L' downtown to look in the fabulous city of Chicago." And is this an OK neighbor to be walking 5 or 6 six blocks at all times of the hours of daylight? The address is 10249 West Irving Park Road, Schiller Park, IL.
Answers:
My buddies and I be partying down there a couple weeks ago. Shouldn't be more than a block or two at most, definately short walking distance.
The nearest station is ROSEMONT on the BLUE LINE. About 3 Miles away.
If your hotel might bestow free transfer to any the ROSEMONT station or they can drop you off at O'hare airport where on earth you can get on the BLUE LINE in the airport.
Schiller Park is not on the L, so you don't have to verbs about walking. It's in the order of a three mile walk to the CTA Blue Line. The better bet is to use the bus to return with there. There is a suburban Pace bus (route 332) that stops at Irving Park & Mannheim Rd. that will run you to the Rosemont CTA station, which is on the blue line that go between Downtown and O'Hare. If you are out on the street, though, you'll be OK.
This is the RTA trip finder, enter your starting position as Irving Park Rd. & George Pl (it doesn't recognize the street adress of the hotel) and your completion point where you want to be in motion, and it'll show you how to get at hand via public transportation and the cost. The link below to be precise the pace bus page for route 332.

If there's a free shuttle from the hotel, next you can save the bus fare by going to the airport and getting on the L in attendance. Get off at any airline contained by terminal 2 and walk to the train station.
What you could hoof it to, if you're interested, is the Metra commuter rail stations that are contained by the vicinity. The Schiller Park stop on the North Central splash is about a mile away from the hotel to the northeast at 4555 Ruby St. The hotel desk can relate you the best way to bring there. The Mannheim stop on the Milwaukee District West Line is a bit farther. That's individual about 1.25 miles away from the hotel down Mannheim Rd., which is only just to the west of the hotel. The North Central Line runs very few trains per hours of daylight, and if you're coming back postponed and you're using Metra you'll be going to the Mannheim station.
Metra is a more comfortable, faster ride than the CTA if you're going downtown, the catch is that the Metra stops at one and only one place downtown. The cost is cheaper compared to bus + CTA, but more expensive than free shuttle + CTA. Service is less frequent on the Metra string. But if it were me, if I could win a free shuttle to the airport, I'd do that instead of walk to the Metra.

I'm not sure but I did visit the Chicago transportation website and be able to receive a mailed diary and route map of the "L". It helped out alot
It's not within walking distance. The hotel is located stale the Irving Park Rd. exit off I-294, whereas the closest El station is any in O'Hare Airport or Rosemont, which is the River Rd. exit bad I-190. You'd have to drive roughly speaking 2 miles away - see map:

Call the hotel, they hold shuttle buses they will pick you up from the airport.
Check out this mapquest. It is not exactly showing the "L" station, but just to show the distance. The "L" station refers to the train and the train closest to this hotel is the blue strip, it runs from O'hare airport into the city. SO check out the map, the start point is correct, but the train station is right about where on earth it says o'hare airport.
I dont suppose its walkable because this hotel is on Irving Park & Mannheim, you would need to amble Mannheim Rd northbound to get the train and this road does not really own walking passways.
Call the hotel I'm sure they can offer option for you.
