How to hold heat up contained by NY during the first week of January?
I live in miami shoreline and have never experienced temperature under 35. I will be traveling to NY surrounded by the first week of January and I am having trouble finding thaw coats/jackets.
What can I wear to be able to meander *as comfortably as possible* through the streets?
Layering?
What should I look for to ensure I have a heat jacket/coat?
Answers:
I may be the worst soul to answer this question, I love the cold weather and dislike the heat.
However I other found that on those bitter cold days (yes those 5 degree days procure to me) a good 80% Goose down Coat next to a bit of layering underneath does the trick.
It will be hard for you to adjust. A friend from Thailand stayed ith me for a while surrounded by the Winter and she was freezing adjectives the time. However we found ways to keep it nice and melt!
Try LLBean or Land's End.
I can't believe that the warmth in Miami doesn't walk below 35 degrees C! It have the same heat as Australia, I thought..
However, to keep melt in a cold climate, I found that a melt hat, gloves, scarf and solid, comfortable shoes be essential. If you keep the extremities reheat, it is a help.
Yes, layer are the way to jump, as the layers trap the upper air and keep you heat up. Presumably, where you are staying, whether it be a hotel or near friends, will be heated. You therefore with the sole purpose need to be thaw outside. It would be silly to spend a lot of money on a terrifically warm coat you would be unlikely to wear again. I know, within London, in the winter, some individuals used to wear leather coats as they keep the turn out and can be warm if you enjoy several layers underneath. If you don't guess that would do, you could always buy a worn, warmer coat from a Charity shop after your arrival surrounded by New York. January should also have sale, if you want new things.. enjoy a good trip! Lucky you. N.Y sounds great.
Yes, layering is the idea and knob.
As someone who lived in the NorthEast, after recently moved to Florida, I can confidently inform you that Januaryy in NYC is tricky; for, it will be 35 degree and windy outside, but afterwards everyone has their dry roast cranked up in their shops and bar on this inside.
Coast checks are available almost everywhere, so I suggest a warm sweater, a winter coat and a scarf/gloves.
For a pious winter coat look for wool (like a peacoat) or filled near down ( a puffy one)
have fun; I love NYC!
Bass pro Shop and Cabela's have some really nice silk thermal underwear, insulated jacket, insulated gloves and socks.
Both have catalogs and are on-line.
