VA have a little more group to it than WV. I was born contained by VA and lived in WV for 10 years. They are both superb places.
In VA you can choose between big city (Washington DC area) the beaches or the mountains. There are a few good colleges and university.
Far or unfair, WV have more of a redneck reputation and I think you will find more poverty at hand.
West Virginia takes some growing used to. I've be here since right before youth (age 9) after moving from suburban Charlotte, NC (I'm 24 now). If it grows on you and you learn to embrace it, WV is a great place to live.
The cutback is definitely better surrounded by VA, but the climate is much better in WV (more variety).

I love it here =) If your an outdoorsy type, give it a shot. Southern West Virginia is gorgeous. If you resembling to have like mad of things to do inside (eating, malls, museums.. etc) then the Morgantown, Charleston, or Huntington nouns are the most business like. Lewisburg is also really nice and verbs.. its close to virginia, too.
I have lived both places and I say aloud Virginia. I am currently living in WV but after arts school am high tailing it out of here. Here are reason:
1. Public school system is superior contained by Virginia. Just look at counties in WV that border VA. The school in VA counties nearby to WV are all full of WV students who recompense tuition for a better education.
2. Taxes.Look at Bluefield, WV/VA. All growth happen in VA because of the insane taxes salaried in WV.
3. Insurance. Play next to an auto insurance website...put that you live in WV on one and VA on the other you will find that the cost of insurance as very well is highly inflated. WV used to be a haven of medical malpractice cases and still is a haven for auto cases.
4. Health thinking. Aside from Charleston Area Medical Center and maybe Ruby Memorial Hospital, most strength care is inferior. The apology is doctors don't want to work in WV due to the insane cost of malpractice compared to other state.s
5. Government. If they give a crap they would do something to fix it. Just one example...look at the current elections in Mercer County, WV for magistrate. You will see most population that run and win have no schooling past soaring school. These are our courts that make significant decisions.
