What is the career souk resembling surrounded by Portland?
I graduated near a business finance amount and I work hard contained by california but I know I will never be able to afford a home here so I want to move to PDX, I hear its like a smaller more mellow book of SF. What is the job souk like nearby? I know housing is substantially cheaper than LA and SF

Actually the housing is getting to be a moment ago like California. You can't find anything for below $400k that doesn't need remodeling, except for perchance some smaller condos, and if you do find something, expect it will go for more than the asking price if it's a legitimate find.
The job souk is ok depending on what exactly you're looking for.
The job bazaar is definitely slower within Portland than SF, but there is also smaller number competition for specific jobs so it's easier to manor a job even though near is less diversity within jobs. The primary employers are Nike, Intel, Standard Insurance Company, Regence Blue Cross/Blue Shield and other healthcare companies, assorted banks and sundry law firms.

I was born and raise in Southern California and moved to Portland looking for a Mid-Size city that be a decent Price and have a west coast feel, honestly, I have a hard time finding a position and eventually gave up and jammed my bags to Sacramento, which is roughly the same surrounded by price and size. I have to concede the city is not as exciting as downtown Portland, but it is changing, plus, it is the partially point in between SF and Tahoe. On top of that, I found a really biddable job within a matter of weeks and it scarcely ever rains!
My husband and I moved from Portland to Phoenix as soon as he graduated because he didn't want to be working at Tully's Coffee for the rest of his natural life. The economy contained by Portland is HORRIBLE! Don't move there unless you seize a job first! Not to mention, the housing souk there IS cheaper than LA and SF, but not much. We want to move posterior to Portland but we're waiting for my husband to get a position first, and then we'll still probably own to rent for a year or so to afford a DECENT house.
