Take 71st-Continental Av-bound (R) or (V) train (Late night E) to 71st-Continental Avs or weekend/late night/evening after 9pm (G).
(Warning: If travelling on weekend, it is prominent to check service advisory on MTA Website. Also, (G) train only operate 4 cars, so best to wait for train within center area.
Follow sign to Long Island Railroad's Forest Hill Station.
Make sure to purchase ticket from TIcket Office or Vending Machine.
Fare from Forest Hills to Stony Brook Station. Forest Hills contained by Fare Zone 1 and Stony Brook in Fare Zone 10.
Peak fare cost $13 (March 1st, $13.50)
Off-Peak Fares cost $9.50 (March 1st, $9.75)
At Forest Hill station, only first front 4 cars are available and verbs at Jamaica Station for Port Jefferson Branch to Stony Brook Station.
You want to take the LIRR Port Jefferson queue. Stony Brook is one or two stops before Port Jefferson. You could confine the Port Jeff line at Jamaica LIRR station.
