What are some of your favorite places to budge and things to do within chicago and illinois?

Personally, I love heading down to Navy Pier, or taking a stroll through downtown. The atmosphere, diversity, and food are absolutely amazing.
There is allot to do in Chicago IL, it adjectives depends on your age, and what you like. If you are into the hi profile and glitzy places I other like to start past its sell-by date with a trip to the thorny rock cafe. The Food is good the atmosphere is in order, and it’s a wonderful place to start off a trip. Get your position, have a beer or two and obtain ready for a hours of darkness on the town. Next off to the Excalibur. The infirm castle is a wonder dance experience. And it keep going to all hours of the morning.
A daylight trip is other neat to start at convoy pier, but best in the summer. There are trips for sights, and history from the pier. I other like a inactive trip down the Chicago river on the architecture tour, or a trip onto the lake at dark for an unparalleled view of the city at dark.
One off lash place that's always great is movies at the Vic Theater, right sour the blue line at Belmont. The theater have movies 2 for $5.00 and they serve alcohol ( always nice for a trip on the town). After the movies in attendance are allot of restaurants on Belmont. From ( one of my favorite) Philly's Best
( hmmy) to up scale restaurants. The nouns around Belmont off the blue chain has allot of dapper place to check out, and some are more of a Goth hand out later anything else.
If you are more of the athletic type and it's summer a jog or bike ride along the mere shore is something that will through you into a loop, As you go north of downtown possibly a mile or so, the beach's, volley ball, fashion it seem more resembling Miami then anything else. This be one of the neatest experiences I have ever have. There is also a neat ship shaped restaurant on the sand, and as always a wonderful outlook of the city.
The area around the city also have a lot of wonderful bike and jog trails( more for the athletic type). Some go through forest preserves, some are Fire roads and others walk along the old shipping conduit.
One thing I found physical helpful when I moved to Chicago be to go to the book store, and buy a Chicago book the specialized within what you were interested surrounded by.
I've been surrounded by the Chicago area nearly my unharmed life, and here's my Illinois/Chicago top ten:
1) The Lakeshore. I've lived in the neighbourhood the lakeshore continually since I left mom & dad, because anyone able to amble to the lake and see the pond, swim or boat in the lagoon (and have sea influenced weather) is a tremendous benefit.
2) Starved Rock/Matthiessen State Parks are not fantastic when compared to what's out west, where they'd newly be OK views. But they're the class of this state and most of the surrounding nouns for natural features.
3) Field Museum is my favorite of the downtown museums. The Egypt exhibits, and Sue are nice, and they've be very obedient at bringing in and putting together special exhibits lately.
4) MSI have neat stuff to look at too. The Silver Streak, the U-505, the Coal Mine, the child chicks and Jollyball are still fun even as an adult.
5) The Cultural Center is one of the most jaw-droppingly pretty interior spaces contained by the city.
6) Prarie Avenue Historic District & the South Loop. Prairie Avenue's few old buildings remaining are wonderful, but the spanking new construction in the nouns has in the region of the only attractive townhomes built within the vicinity of downtown lately. And the South Loop have a great charm to it in broad.
7) Seven Treasures Restaurant, a longstanding Hong Kong-style noodle shop in Chinatown. No decor, but virtuous noodles.
8) Grant Park: The Bean is just unbelievably cool. So is Buckingham Fountain.
9) The Music Box Theater
10) Garfield Park Conservatory is otherworldly, especially the Fern Room.

11) The Dana-Thomas House within Springfield is the most amazing Wright in the state, it's a fine prairie house with an excellent tree of enthusiasm abstrat motif, and has adjectives the original furniture, which finances its the only Wright Prairie style house that you can really see as it be.
