TWO WORDS...BISHOP LAKE http://www.michigandnr.com/parksandtrail...
"BRIGHTON - BISHOP LAKE"
Metro Beach surrounded by Mt. Clemens. Take Metro Parkway Eastbound all the opening down to a big surface lot by Lake St. Clair
All areas in Michigan are dirty so beware.
I live in the Port Huron nouns and commute down to Roseville every day. There are some ok beach in Port Huron or basically North (you may want to check out Lakeport State Park); most of the beaches approaching MetroBeach or Stoney Creek aren't as nice and seem busier since they are surrounded by the metro area (I lived surrounded by Macomb County most of my life). A beach that I be really impressed with when I visit last year be in Lexington, Michigan which is a small town nearly 1/2 hour north of Port Huron; of course the trip is probably over an hour especially near construction on I-94 and Gratiot. Again though if you are going during a weekend it can be busy. Otherwise most towns North of Port Huron have clothed public beaches. You may also want to check out the small, public seaside at St. Clair Shores. Feel free to shot me a message if you have any question.
Oh, the fact that you are downriver really change things. Aren't there some public beach along Lake Erie (a) Luna Pier? It's been a few years since I've be down that way. Otherwise, it looks approaching nearly everyone's suggestions are well over an hour drive (except for Belle Isle, etc.). Check out Monroe County's trellis page below(specifically the parks/beaches).
no, unless u want to get shot.
I like Kensington Metropark's beach.
Metro Beach and a marine park that is nice is Chandler Park Aquatic Center
Beware Metro Beach has have syringes wash up on the shore in former times but I think that have been resolved. Metro sand has also be closed in recent years because of High E Coli level (!). You may want to try a wave pool or one of those hotels beside an indoor water park (Big Bear Lodge)
stoney creek, but it's kind of small. but the wtaer is totally verbs and everything i was simply there end week.
Try metropolitan coast in Mt Clements. I forgot exactly how to receive there, but anyone you ask will know exactly how to take there. I am surprised you haven't hear of it.I know the street you take is call Metro Parkway.
The best beaches within Michigan are on lake Michigan. Check out Grand Haven, Ludington, and Muskegon. As far as over here, I would agree near Bishop lake, and speak check out Sterling state park in monroe. Lots to do at any one especially if you have kids. Be sure and bring bikes if you approaching to ride.

it would be easier to help you if you told us whether you be east, west, north or south of the city because you have received some great suggestions.
michigan have five great lakes and the detroit river so at hand has get to be somewhere you would be ok with. own a passport-travel to Canada and take contained by the water.
Almost every body of wet is going to have its problems-known and unknown. want the tangible deal-visit during the day or impulsive weekend hours when the talkative locals are give or take a few
with west nile on the prowl i dont swim within any water lacking chlorine!
go to the states website for some correct ideas and check out the website for the county you are in-wayne,oakland or macomb. When you do the hunt for your county make sure you supply Michigan because all of these counties exist contained by at least one other state. There is also a knit to all of the counties from the states website.
On another note-take a trip to Belle Isle Downtown Detroit-it is categorically beautiful and is the biggest park owned by a city (bigger than Central within NY)! Yes the bathrooms could be better but i havent been to a park where on earth i love the bathrooms :-)
i hope this helps you
OH YEAH the first guy is referring to Mount (Mt) Clemens within case you try to find it online, LOL
