Will be there within Sept for my B-day already have Universal, WB Studio Tour, NBC, Paramount, Sony tours planned...Would close to some good restaurants to try...

Thanks!

"California Pizza Kitchen" (CPK) - there's one in the Hollywood/Highland complex - "The Cheesecake Factory" (which I LOVE) at The Grove, also one within Sherman Oaks.

On Sunset Blvd, opposite the Guitar Centre, my fav. mexican restaurant - "El Compadre", for "hastily food" style mexican that is yummy "Baja Fresh", there's on at Sunset/Vine, differing The Arclight cinemas, and also 1 across the road from Mann's Chinese Theatre/Hollywood&Highland.

Definitely try "In & Out Burger" at Orange & Sunset, a fairly short stroll from H/H. YUM

At Universal Citywalk - Wolfgang Puck Cafe, Bubba Gump (never tried it, but it looks cute), there's lots of restaurants at Citywalk you'll get a great banquet.

Try going to the Farmers Market, next to The Grove, lots of little unflappable eateries in here, all pretty honest.

I'm getting hungry, just typing this out!
'Bob's Big Boy is pretty close to Burbank, it's supposedly a "famous landmark"

For even faster food, there's an "In-n-out" burger subsequent to Hollywood High School on Sunset Blvd.

An expensive, famous restaurant within Hollywood is called "Frank and Musso Grill",http://www.seeing-stars.com/Dine2... it is a abnormal old Hollywood atmosphere surrounded by there. It be in "Ocean's 11" and some other movies. Its' on Hollywood blvd close to Hollywood and highland. Also near in attendance is a big new outdoor precinct, with restaurants resembling "Johnny Rockets" and "California Pizza Kitchen." (It's the area where on earth the "walk of fame")

I suppose there's also a restaurant in the Roosevelt Hotel, but I haven't be there contained by a few years, so I'm not sure.

I've also heard this place call "Tangier" in Los Feliz is biddable, but I've never tried it:

If you're going to be surrounded by that part of LA, you should categorically check out Bob's Big Boy. It is a State Historic landmark and have really good hamburgers. I believe it is located on Riverside Drive within Burbank, CA. On Friday or Saturday nights, they hold classic car night and carhops. I'm sure they have details on their website. Another great LA spot it Pink's hot dogs. It is on N. La Brea Blvd. at Melrose Ave. and have been at hand since the 1930's. Their hot dogs are famous and enticing. There is also Canter's Deli if you want something other than hamburgers and hotdogs. It is a signpost as well, a bit pricer than the other places, but worth it. It is located on No. Fairfax Ave. within Los Angeles. And one last hamburger place to recommend, Mel's Drive - In. There is one on Highland Ave. and one on Sunset Blvd. I really savour their milkshakes. And they are opened 24 hours, as it Canter's. Pink's is open till 2 or 3 am, I'm not sure out Bob's hours, but I know they have a website that will own that info. If you're willing to budge further from the Hollywood area, one of my favorite places is call Versailles. They serve Cuban food which is delicious. The restaurant is on Venice Blvd. within Culver City/West LA. Here's their site: http://www.versaillescuban.com/. If you're at Universal, there is a resturant near called Gladstone's which is apposite, although I like their Malibu location better individually. There is also a great family-style Italian place called Buca di Beppo which I believe have a location at City Walk. Their food is excellent. Have a fun b-day!
Right by Universal Studios is an Italian restaurant call Micelli's - they have singing waiters/waitresses. They also own another location in Hollywood at Hollywood & Las Palmas. I prefer it to the other. It is complete with straw covered Chianti bottles near lovers inscriptions, proposals, etc. written on them (put one up commemorating your birthday !). Someone else mentioned Musso & Frank's grill, it is right across the street. VERY expensive, EVERYTHING IS ALA CARTE including salad dressing, extra butter, rolls, etc. But...it is a great place for a drink-oldest bar/restaurant in Hollywood-red leatherette banquettes, waiter in coat/bow tie, etc.

GOOD LUCK :)

WOW !
I reason there be one answer when I started typing mine.
Everyone has a right to their opinion, but it seems alot of the suggestions are for quick food/chain restaurants you probably have at home/touristy places. I strongly recommend avoiding the places at Universal City Walk unless it's for convenience. They will be crowded, overpriced, and mediocre. In-N-Out is great for a high-speed hamburger (while driving?). Bob's Big Boy is a step up (actually in Toluca Lake), Farmers Market is a GREAT suggestion. I took my 13 year mature niece from Portland and her friend there two weeks ago. A true slice of L.A.. Another suggestion is Chin Chin on the Sunset Strip within West Hollywood. I managed it surrounded by the early 90s, and it is a great place to see some stars within their native habitat. After work we used to jump for drinks at El Compadre which is generic Mexican Food. I would suggest El Cholo instead, on Western.
Pizzeria Mozza (created by Mario Batali + others)
on highland + melrose. they have great pizza!
i recommend you kind reservations, but if you can't, just be in motion on a whim + ask for a form at the bar.

i one-sidedly adore miceli's. it's about 5 minutes away from global studios. they serve italian food there; the pizza is AWESOME! and the waiter and waitresses sing and interact with the guests. the concluding time i went, a short time girl sang castle on a cloud and it be adorable.

i also recommend in n' out. contained by fact, don't miss it. they own great burgers that you can smell from a mile away. it's a one of a kind article you can't find on the east coast and in the crucial states.

the hard rock is other fun if you've never been here.
