How long is the drive from fort lauderdale to maimi?
I am taking the kids on vacation within Florida and they want to go to Maimi. Should we stay contained by Maimi or drive in? I want the most straightforward vacation!

For easiest leave leave the kids at home.
Depends on WHERE surrounded by Miami. Also depends on time of afternoon. From downtown FtL to Downtown Miami via I-95 about 45 min unless its rush hour. Then make the addition of a half hour. To South Beach include 15 minutes to half an hour if you use the Julia Tuttle causeway. Any other instrument add more time. Winter weekends on the shore, add still more plus time to look for parking.
It's about 30-50 minutes depending on how rapid you're driving.

You can without fault drive in, only just avoid rush hour because of the traffic but is not far away, maybe 45 minutes, I'm not sure. I live contained by between both cities, it's not a big deal to drive from one to another.
If most of you happenings are going to be in Miami stay within, if you have things to do surrounded by both cities Ft. Lauderdale is quieter and very nice.
Stay in Miami. if you stay on south shoreline parking is impossible so use taxis and rent for time trips
Both areas are nice and enjoy a lot to do. The ending time I went I flew into Fort Lauderdale and drove to Miami, where on earth I stayed. (It was purely much cheaper to fly to Lauderdale for some reason.) The drive is below and hour, so you really have the freedom to progress both places on your trip.
