MGM Grand Casino (well, you can lug the kids there of late to take a look ;)
See a show at the Fisher Theatre.

Keep the kids from arguing. ;)
Eat at Pizza Papolis and ride the empire mover ;-) Visit Astoria Bakery for dessert. It's my favorite thing to do downtown. Check out a Tigers team game too. You can get inexpensive places easily.
