Bonfires surrounded by Chicago?

Is there anywhere within or around the Chicago area you can rightfully have a bonfire? Near the shoreline, in the woods?

Answers:
In a word, no. Not on the shoreline, not in the forest preserves, not within the parks. The closest I guess you could come is starting a fire in some of the long-term grills that are located in some parks. You could start a fire within one of those and the cops would just assume you're almost to have a barbecue. But as far as putting food on one of those things, cooking it and intake in, not me.
