What is a moral seaside close to Washington DC for a afternoon trip (not Ocean City)?
Has anyone been to North Beach, MD?
Answers:
Rehoboth and Bethany Beaches (I know tons of folks are going to have positive and denial opinions of both!!)
I enjoy been to North Beach. It's within a cute little town but you had to compensate to go on the shore which was a strange concept to me. Also it wasn't worth the entry price since as soon as you got thigh insightful in the sea you started walking in some really gross slimy seaweed. My fiance and I couldn't stand the opening it felt so we didn't stir in any farther. It be also VERY crowded for the small beach. If you travel, bring water shoes! For this idea and pollution I'd say stay away from any of the firth beaches!
I would recommend VA shoreline if you're not coming from too far away (central/northern MD). From DC and NoVA it's only a 2 hour drive (if no traffic) and it's a good-looking beach beside no slimy seaweed and free admission. Plus it's roomy.
If VA Beach doesn't suit you, here's a link I found next to some other suggestions: http://dc.in the order of.com/od/hotels/a/BestBeac...
Haven't be to North Beach, MD but have be to Sandy Point, Ocean City MD, Rehobeth DE and Virginia Beach VA as well as Tidewater nouns before Hampton Tunnels. All are nice and if you want big shore boardwalk atmosphere then you easily have to drive farther...
A word of admonition regarding light of day trip, if you didn't pack the night in the past & start early afterwards you could get mired in indigestible traffic esp during weekend and then it probably wouldn't manufacture sense to lay out the blanket, take several dips and lay contained by the sun for a few hours only to grab hold of some dinner and then drive hindmost so you might think twice going on for how far you go? what time you start esp next to soaring gasoline prices and hotels can be pricey as well so you might want to consider 2 days surrounded by the middle of the week if at all possible which mechanism vacation time as anyone most economical from a money point of view...
Hope the Above Info Helps!
Sandy Point isn't doomed to failure either. Nice for kids. Like NO jellyfish
